THE BIRDSVILLE RACE CLUB, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE ROYAL FLYING DOCTOR SERVICE (RFDS) IS PLEASED TO PRESENT THE ANNUAL BIRDSVILLE RACES RFDS FUN RUN.

In 2025, the annual Birdsville Races Fun Run is taking a sunny detour from the red dirt of the outback with the theme Birdsville Beachgoers!

Get ready to swap your boots for flip-flops and channel your inner beach bum. This year’s theme invites participants to embrace the ultimate summer holiday vibe. Think vibrant Hawaiian shirts, colourful board shorts, cheeky sun visors, oversized sunglasses and zinc-covered noses. Whether you’re strutting the start line in a full tropical ensemble or just adding a splash of beachy flair, this theme is all about fun, freedom and a cheeky nod to sun-soaked Aussie beach culture, brought to life in the heart of the desert.

The event is open to walkers, fun runners and serious runners alike.

All participants are encouraged to create a fundraising page to support the Flying Doctor. Registrations are now open.

If 100 people can raise $100 each we will reach our $10,000 fundraising target.

Winners will be offered Official Birdsville Race Club merchandise vouchers to the value specified below:

Open male: 1st $150, 2nd $100, 3rd $50
Open female: 1st $150, 2nd $100, 3rd $50

ADVICE FOR PARTICIPANTS

Please ensure you wear appropriate clothing and footwear.

Bring a hat, sunscreen and plenty of water.

Take care – go at your own pace. If unwell, slow down, walk or withdraw. Ask marshals for assistance if required.

We recommend you carry your mobile phone with you.
