My Story…
I'm 59 years old and born/raised in Scranton. Graduated from Scranton Central High School, and the University of Scranton (a long time ago). I recently retired from my Engineering career of 36+ years at Tobyhanna Army Depot and now spend time working at PNC Field working for the Railriders during the Baseball Season.
I have lived in Scranton my entire life, built a home in 1995, and still reside there with my wife, Patty and my sons Kyle (24) and Nick (18).
I most enjoy spending as much time as possible with family and friends and working on home projects and antique vehicles. I also enjoy going to Amusement Parks (Rollercoasters mostly) with my family, watching my sons participate in Sports, Coaching their teams, and previously attending events for my son's band. Patty and I regularly frequent Flea Markets, Yard Sales, Estate Sales, Prime Bins, and other "Thrifting" events.
Also, anyone who knows me also knows that I don't eat anything GREEN like veggies and salads🤢.... My vegetables are limited to Potatoes and sometimes Carrots and Corn. My motto is "You'll never get pesticide poisoning or Salmonella from a Tasty-Cake and Yoo-Hoo".
In 2018, Patty's Cancer diagnosis changed our lives and several very close friends were also diagnosed with cancer since that time. For many years we couldn't even stand to see commercials and reminders of cancer, treatments, medications and "events". They were (and still are) constant reminders of such a horrible disease that seems to touch every family in one way or another. But there comes a time that we need to do everything we can to raise money to hopefully allow the research teams to find a cure for Cancer.
I am running this "40 Meters" in honor of my wife, Patty, who is stronger than anyone I know. My very close friend Yvonne, my best friend's daughter, Brooke and other friends that I haven't asked in respect to their privacy..... ( M.T. H.P. M.L. M.C. J.S. N.D. M.L. )
I continue to pray for all of these incredibly Strong Women and pray for a cure to Breast Cancer and all Cancers in the very near future.
