Countdown to event
In 2025, Tourism Moree have again proudly partnered with Little Athletics Moree to bring a regional running festival – Run the Plains – to the Moree community and competitors from surrounding regions. Experience regional running at its best in Australia's Artesian Spa Capital.

NewPave Community K: The last event of the evening will be an all ages, social 1 kilometre lap of the main street, where the focus will be on spirit and participation rather than speed. When entering the Community K, there is the option to join or register a team, this could be your family, colleagues, classmates, neighbours, sporting team – anything! The best represented teams on the night, be that in terms of number, spirit, or creativity, will receive special recognition. Competing in the Community K as part of a team is entirely optional, the focus instead is on having everyone hit the pavement to take part across age groups and abilities, plus this event’s entry fee will be donated to a local charity.
The evening promises an exhilarating display of running, bring the whole family along to cheer on the athletes and enjoy Moree’s main street hospitality. Please note, Balo Street will be closed to traffic on Friday 26/9/2025 from 5-9pm from the Gwydir Street to Albert Street intersections to accommodate this event. Ample parking is available in adjacent streets.
Presentations for all events will be held at the conclusion of the last race, approximately 8pm.
