MERDEKA SWIM FEST in conjunction with 3rd National Open Water Swimming Championship

6.0 RACE COURSE/ROUTE 1.5KM, and Relay 4*1.5KM

These 2 swims will be organized on a 1.5km lap course
A more detailed race course map will be provided closer to the Championship.

7.0 TIME LIMIT

In all events, time limits shall apply from the finish times of the first swimmer in the respective categories as per WA OWS Rules.

8.0 ELIGIBILITY

1.5KM Individual & Relay 4x1.5KM

Open to anyone who wish to try a shorter distance for experience and/or just for fun with family and friends.

Malaysia Aquatics reserves the right to invite swimmers from foreign National Federations to participate in this championship.

9.0 REGISTRATION

Entry fees are as follows:

1.5KM : RM190 / person 4 x 1.5KM Relay: RM520 / team

* All fees are subject to 6.48% admin fee + SST.
Entry closing date is 5.00pm on Tuesday, 5th August 2025.

11.0 AWARDS / GOODIES

•  Gold, Silver & Bronze Medals will be awarded to the first three placed swimmers / teams in each age category.
•  E-Certificates of participation will be given to all swimmers.
•  Finisher medals and event t-shirts.
  
  

12.0 PROTESTS & APPEALS

All protests and appeals will be dealt with in accordance to WA / MAS rules.

PARTICIPANTS’ PRE-RACE TECHNICAL & SAFETY BRIEFING

The meeting will be held on Saturday 30th August 2025. Venue and time to be advised.

13.0 TERMS & CONDITIONS

All Participants who are entered in the MERDEKA SWIM FEST in conjunction with 3rd National Open Water Swimming Championship is deemed to have given written permission to the Organizers to collect, analyse and collate any personal information relating to that Participant, as the Organizers may in their sole discretion deem fit, including without any limitation information for the Organizers’ programme, planning, data-processing, fund-raising and/ or, any other purposes in furtherance of the functions or powers of MAS.

Whilst reasonable precaution will be taken by the Organizers to ensure the participants’ safety, participants will take part in the MERDEKA SWIM FEST in conjunction with 3rd National Open Water Swimming Championship at their own risk and the Organizers will not be responsible or held liable for any injury or death howsoever arising from training for or during participation in the MERDEKA SWIM FEST in conjunction with 3rd National Open Water Swimming Championship. Participants are strongly encouraged to consult their medical practitioner prior to registration and before the actual race day.

In the event of harsh weather conditions that could cancel the MERDEKA SWIM FEST in conjunction with 3rd National Open Water Swimming Championship, MAS reserves the right not to refund entry fees or any other charges submitted by the teams and/ or individuals at the MERDEKA SWIM FEST in conjunction with 3rd National Open Water Swimming Championship
