The Animal Run

Welcome to our 2nd annual Run/Walk and Canicross (canine cross-country) Tofurkey Trot fundraiser benefitting Herd & Flock Animal Sanctuary!

Our Mission: Animal Run's vegan foot races raise funds for various animal welfare organizations, helping them save the lives of, find homes for, heal and comfort animal residents in need. Animal Run encourages athletes to support vegan businesses that promote human health and a thriving world.

What is Canicross?

Canicross can be run with one or two dogs, always attached to the runner. The runner wears a waist belt or hip harness to minimize stress on the back lumbar area. The dog wears a specifically designed harness for safe and unrestricted joint movement. The two are joined by a bungee cord or elastic line that reduces shock to both human and dog when the dog pulls. If you're new to the sport, here is how to get started. About This Year's Beneficiary

As with all Animal Run events, all proceeds will benefit a Bay Area based animal focused non-profit. We are proud to be supporting Herd & Flock animal sanctuary for this year's Tofurkey Trot. Herd & Flock is based in Vacaville and provides animals rescued from the meat, egg and dairy industries a safe haven where they can live out their lives in peace. * New location this year: San Leandro Marina Park near the Volleyball Sand Court

Driving directions to parking lot is

Volleyball Sand Court, (14001 Monarch Bay Dr, San Leandro, CA 94577)

* There is a large FREE parking lot next to the race area. There is also street parking if the lot is full.

* Registration opens at 8am

* Races start at 8:55am

NOTE: We recently reduced the price of all registrations by $5 as we ran out of shirts. If you register between 11/24-11/27, you. won't get a t shirt. We sincerely apologize for this but hope you'll enjoy the discounted price.

ADULTS

• $30 5K Solo & virtual runners ($40 for same day registration)
• $40 5K Canicross & virtual teams ($50 for same day registration)
• $30 1 Mile walkers and dog walkers ($40 for same day registration)

KIDS

• $20 Kids 12 and under
• $30 Kids 12 and under Canicross Teams

*Note : There is a small processing fee per registration.

For 12-years-old or under canicrossers, Jennifer Tobits will contact you with additional safety instructions.

Prices will be $10 more for same day signups
