This event is open to all ages and fitness levels. Climb on your own or with friends and family. Whether you're a seasoned stair climber or it’s your first time, your participation directly supports the life-changing programs at Casa Connor—and every dollar raised makes a difference. GOAL
For our second Climb event, our goal is to have 120 people climb the 802 stairs of the Calgary Tower in support of MCA who, in turn, will use the funds to support the children and youth with special needs who attend at Casa Connor in Mexico.
YOU CAN HELP!
Join the Climb for the Kids at Casa Connor! Sign up now and spread the word! Please invite friends, family or colleagues to join the climb! Step up for the children and youth who need our help and let’s do it together 🧡
The Climb for the Kids event supports MCA Mexico’s Canadian Angels Foundation, a registered Canadian charity focused on providing educational and therapeutic opportunities, improving health and nutrition and introducing much needed respite services for families of children and youth with disabilities. Our work is carried out at Casa Connor, a facility built in Mexico, largely by Canadians, as a legacy to Connor Vanderveen who had Hunter Syndrome. He was born and lived his short life in Calgary. Connor’s life legacy provides much needed hope for many, many children with special needs.
With no ongoing government funding, the children and their families struggle to survive. Imagine a single mother who lives on or below the poverty line trying to take care of a little girl with Cerebral Palsy while also supporting three other children. Then imagine that this whole family lives in a single room constructed from corrugated iron and cardboard with no running water or electricity. MCA works with Pasitos de Luz to enable this family to survive.
The need for the the climb is greater than ever. Climbing the Calgary Tower is a unique and exhilarating opportunity to help the kids be the best they can be!
