YOUR MISSION
Develop healthy, consistent physical activity lifestyle habits by exercising a minimum of 30 minutes per day for 30 consecutive days. Work individually or in teams of two or more!
EARN YOUR RANK
Earn your rank / appointment based on the number of days of exercise achieved and the acquisition of up to 5 bonus points. Results will be posted publicly. Individuals and teams with the highest rankings will receive special recognition!
COMMANDER (30/30 Days x 60 min per day + 3 or more Bonus Points)
COLONEL (30/30 Days x 30 min per day + 2 Bonus Points)
LIEUTENANT COLONEL (30/30 Days x 30 min per day + 1 Bonus Point)
MAJOR (30/30 Days x 30 min per day)
CAPTAIN (29/30 Days x 30 min per day)
LIEUTENANT (28/30 Days x 30 min per day)
2ND LIEUTENANT (27/30 Days x 30 min per day)
OFFICER CADET (26/30 Days x 30 min per day)
BONUS POINTS (5 AVAILABLE)
RUCK ON : Ruck with your choice added weight (e.g., water bottle, weighted pack) carried anywhere on your body while you hike, walk, wheel, bike, elliptical or water-walk a minimum of 30 minutes. This may be completed at any point in the challenge and is worth 1 bonus point.
HONOUR A SOLDIER : Donate minimum $10.00 to our charity, "Soldier On", in honour of a soldier, past or present. Don’t know a soldier? Consider choosing one from the history books or your local community. Send the name + photo (if available) of the soldier being honoured to charlotteloaring@gmail.com. This may be completed at any point in the challenge and is worth 1 bonus point.
COMMANDER'S CLUB : Looking for a greater challenge? Earn your way to the appointment of "Commander" by exercising a minimum of 60 minutes per day x 30 days and receive a limited edition "Loaring Challenge Commander's Club Coin". This achievement is worth 3 bonus points.
EXERCISE TRACKING
Participants must keep track of their activity. Sample exercise tracking sheets are available here (or use a tracking method of your choice). Keep this info handy! At the end of the Challenge a brief email survey must be completed by all participants - it will be used to tabulate results.
ACTIVITIES THAT COUNT
Walking, hiking, rucking, running, cycling, swimming, pickleball, pilates, yoga, weights, resistance exercise, team sports, yard work, physiotherapy exercises, etc. (Note: Exercise does not have to be continuous, however it must be completed within a 24-hour day.)
Sick or injured? Try walking, yoga, or gentle stretching.
MISSED DAYS
Miss a day? We suggest a $5.00 donation per day missed to be paid at the end of the challenge (e.g., miss 3 days = $15.00 donation). 100% of donations go to our charity "Solder On". Tax receipts will be issued for donations $10.00 or greater.
OUR CAUSE
100% of proceeds support "Soldier On" - a national program that aims to improve the quality of life for ill and injured Canadian Armed Forces members and veterans through sport, recreational and creative activities and opportunities. Tax receipts will be issued for donations of $10.00 or more.
DAILY MOTIVATION
Participants will receive a daily motivational email at 05:00hrs with health & wellness info, inspirational stories from fellow Challenge participants and important Challenge updates.
CHALLENGE COMPLETION
At the end of the Challenge a brief (1 minute) email survey must be completed by all participants. Reponses will be used to tabulate results. Surveys must be completed by December 2, 2025.
