The 2nd Annual 5K Walk & Run and 1K Kids Fun Run is hosted by the American Nuclear Society - Mississippi Section, US Women in Nuclear, North American Young Generation in Nuclear, and the National Society of Black Engineers. It will help raise awareness about the benefits of nuclear energy to improve our environment.
100% of the registration fees and any additional donations collected will go directly towards a scholarship fund for deserving students who want to study science, technology, business or policy related to nuclear energy.
A nuclear energy-themed art competition was held for 3rd - 5th graders at North Jackson Elementary School to create a unique design for event T-shirts. Students' artwork will be on display at the event and on the ANS-MS website. All registrants receive a long sleeve t-shirt with the winning student's artwork on it.
