4-Dog Rig Closed
5.3 Rig 5.3.1 All dogs shall be harnessed in single or double file. Fan Hitch is not acceptable. 5.3.2 All dogs shall be fastened to the towline/central line, which shall be made of non rigid, flexible or expanded line, with a neckline and a tail line. 5.3.3 The rig in DR4 shall have a minimum of three (3) wheels. 5.3.4 The rig in DR6 and DR8 shall have a minimum of three (3) wheels. It is the recommendation of CAHDS and AAHDS that four (4) wheeled rigs be utilized and preferred over three (3) wheeled rigs in accordance with IFSS standard. 5.3.5 All rigs shall be equipped with a working brake on the back wheels. Having brakes in the front wheels is recommended. Please note: Working brakes on all wheels is encouraged. 5.3.6 A snub line about 3 meters (10 ft) shall be carried on the rig to be used to tie down and hold the rig. 5.3.7 Helmet is mandatory for the rig driver. 5.3.8 Rigs will not be propelled by anything other than the dog pulling and driver pedaling, outside energy and pedal

5.6 Scooter 5.6.1 This discipline is practiced with one or two dogs. 5.6.2 When the team is made up of two dogs, the dogs must be connected by a neckline. 5.6.3 If the team consists of a single dog, the participant must ensure that his dog is fit enough to cover the distance and, if necessary, help him further. 5.6.4 The Event Organizer or Event Official may refuse the departure of a 1-dog team if they consider the trail unsuitable or too difficult. AAHDS Rules & Requirements for Participants - 9 5.6.5 The dog(s) must be permanently attached by a bungee line whose distance between the front of the headset and the base of the dog's tail is at most 2.45 meters when stretched without elongation. However, the recommended distance is 2.20 meters. 5.6.6 Tandem Team exemption: AAHDS allows Tandem teams with longer than the above line rule. The participant should make it known to the event official at time of entry and no later than the event morning meeting, as their starting placement

However, the recommended distance is 2.20 meters. 5.1.4 Tandem Team exemption: AAHDS allows Tandem teams with longer than the above line rule. The participant should make it known to the event official at time of entry and no later than the event morning meeting, as their starting placement may be affected so as to not conflict with other teams during a pass. See Tandem Team exemption for more information. 5.1.5 Wearing a helmet is mandatory for the cyclist. 5.1.6 The bike must be equipped with mountain bike tires and must have brakes capable of immobilizing the team.

Canicross Closed
5.4 Canicross 5.4.1 This discipline is practiced with one dog. AAHDS Rules & Requirements for Participants - 8 5.4.2 The dog must be permanently attached to the participant’s canicross belt via a bungee line whose distance between the participant's abdomen and the base of the dog's tail must be no more than 2 meters when stretched without elongation. However, the recommended distance is 1.70 meters. 5.4.3 Cleats and snowshoes may be permitted provided they are not dangerous to dogs and other participants. The event organizer will determine if these materials can be used and may decide their prohibition or any other adaptation at their discretion. The Event Official reserves the right to refuse the use of such equipment if they consider it dangerous.
