Embark on a 1,000 km bikepacking adventure through Australia’s stunning alpine region.

The Hunt 1000 will lead you from Canberra to a grand finish in Melbourne on Saturday, November 29th, 2025. Along the way, you’ll traverse backcountry trails, high plains, snow gum woodlands, and towering native forests.

This isn’t a race but a self-paced, self-guided journey — you choose your start date, set your pace, and take on the challenge your own way. Each year, the route is refreshed to create a unique adventure through Australia’s high country: expect remote campsites, historic alpine huts, river crossings, hike-a-bikes, smooth gravel, and rutted fire trails on your way to Melbourne.

Important Notice By registering for the Hunt 1000, you are purchasing access to a self-guided route. There is no official support provided during your ride. Riders must be self-sufficient and accept full responsibility for their own safety and decision-making. This structure remains consistent with previous years.
Refunds & Transfers
  • Refunds are not issued, but entries may be transferred to another rider (fee arranged between riders) or deferred to a future year.
  • Race Roster Refund Protectionis available at checkout (offered by Race Roster, not the Hunt 1000):
    • Covers the full amount if you pay up front.
    • Covers the deposit only if you choose the deposit option (not the later balance).
