Battle Of The Beatton will be a 5ish KM and12ish KM trail race in the beautiful trails of Beatton Park. It will feature a unique handicap system based on age and gender aiming to level the playing field for all participants. Older runners and younger children will start first, with faster, younger runners starting last staggered over a 25-minute time span. It might not be perfectly fair, but it will definitely be fun! Awards will be given to the first finishers, the fastest times, as well as the top placing family (scored by lowest placing of top 3 finishers per family).
No head starts or handicap for the 5k distance.
The race is more than just a run. It is an important fundraiser supporting the cross-country and track & field programs at Bert Bowes Middle School and North Peace Secondary School. These programs help develop student-athletes by fostering teamwork, discipline, resilience, and healthy living. With community support, we can ensure students have access to proper equipment, training opportunities, and the ability to compete at regional and provincial levels.
