20-Mile Point-to Point Marathon Training Run!
Sacramento's Only Point-to-Point Marathon Training Run
This registration is for those registered for any of the Sacfit 2025 Summer training programs and is primarily an RSVP registration.
There is an option to purchase the event shirt for $15, but the workout and associated workout amenities are included in the Summer 2025 training program fee.
So, free! I just need your RSVP through this registration site.
With a bus trip to transport you to the workout start line (in Folsom), aid stations along the way, and finish-line beverages and food (and T-shirt to boot!), this last-long run for your marathon training provides as near-to-race day conditions as possible so you can work out all the final bugs and be fully prepared for your big marathon day!
To that end, Sacfit is pleased to offer this community training run as part of its Marathon training program series that we've provided since our start in 2006. These programs include various training permutations to align with the broadest of training logistics anyone might have, whether a beginner looking for a comprehensive program or a veteran runner wanting to add to or refine their current training regime.
This training run has been a favorite for Sacramento Area runners for the last 20 years.
This training run is part of Sacfit's Marathon Taper Program (as well as our Full Marathon Training Program) and features the only fully supported point-to-point long training run offered in the region, as well as training run distances that consider marathon training programs that call for 4-week and 5-week tapering.
Following are the amenities for the training run and Marathon Taper Program:
- Four point-to-point longer mileages to choose from: 21, 20, 18.5, or 16 miles.
- Optional shorter 13.1 or 4-mile training run (Also a point-to-point route).
- Free Bus ride to all the Point-to-Point training run workout start points.
- Sacfit VIP Indoor Lounge with Indoor Flush Restrooms at CIM race-day start line.
- Mile-by-Mile pace bracelet tailored for CIM or Honolulu Marathon Race
As part of the Marathon Taper Program/Training Run fee, you are afforded access to the Sacfit VIP Lounge on race day. The facility is spacious, quiet, and warm with indoor restrooms so you can focus on your final pre-race preparations rather than standing in a cold tent or dealing with cumbersome portables.
Did we mention free coffee? We've got you covered!
Part of any safe and sensible training program includes aid stations for the longer workouts. Sacfit aid stations are famous along the Parkway! No other training group offers such a wide variety of replenishment nutrition. As such, the Sacfit aid stations are a welcome respite to our longer workouts, including the Folsom to Sacramento Point-to-Point Training Run, and offer a plethora of choices to satiate any palate of special food-diet requirement.
We ALWAYS have ice-chilled water and Gatorade to keep you cool, and ice to fill your water bottles when its warm and hot soup for chilly weather. We also have first-aid kits at every station to keep you safe and moving forward.

Our staff of over 30 experienced and knowledgeable coaches actually train with you to help you further attain your goal and enhance your workout experience - something no other training group offers. By training with you every mile, your coach is better able to assess and advise you of your running form and technique, breathing, hydration and nutrition intake, etc.

At Sacfit, we believe that keeping an athlete sharp, focused, and committed to completing those long workouts includes training as a group - not just meeting together prior to the workout, but training as a group for the entire workout.
Workout companions help each other push through the long workouts and keep accountability in showing up for the workouts each and every week. Sacfit is the only marathon training group that ensures you have training partners each and every week throughout the entire training program - not just the first few weeks.
To complete the triad of fitness, we add Strength and Stretching to complete your weekend training. This includes providing strength and stretching stations and equipment after you complete your long workout. We also have supervised yoga and other stretching discipline and strength sessions.

Where is the training location and what time does it meet?
For the Point-to-Point training run (21, 20, 18.5, 16, and 13.1 and 4-mile routes), we meet at Riverbend Park, but you can also park at William Pond. Actual meeting times will depend on your training pace, but it will either be 5:45AM or 7:10AM for the longest workouts, and 8:30AM for the 13-mile workout.
