My Story…
For the 5th time, with your support, I will be running the BMO Vancouver Half Marathon on May 4th with a goal to raise $4,000 for Big Sisters of the Lower Mainland. Together, we have raised over $17,000 in the four years that I have run in honour of Big Sisters. Because I missed last year, I’m motivated to beat my fundraising goal, so thank you for your support, no matter how large or small.
I am proud to support this organization that is committed to igniting the potential of young people in our community. Big Sisters enhances the confidence, self-esteem, and well-being of over 500 youth each year through supportive relationships with adult mentors. The need for their services has grown and they are doing their most important work right now, with social pressures at an all time high for young people and isolation threatening the mental health and education of youth in our community. Your valued support will help Big Sisters match these girls with a caring mentor who will inspire them to succeed and believe in themselves.

Big Sisters of BC Lower Mainland enable life changing mentoring relationships to inspire, ignite and unleash the power and potential of youth. Big Sisters core mentorship programs offer a safe space for self-identifying girls, non-binary, transgender and gender-diverse youth from the ages for 7-17 to work with caring mentors to realize their full potential.
It takes just one stable, committed adult in a young person’s life to make a difference. By matching youth with adult volunteers in quality one-to-one and group mentoring relationships, Big Sisters ensure girls and youth can access the support they need to build a brighter future.
