Help Sydney raise money

Hey there! 

I’ll be running the half marathon on May 4th and I would love to use my platform to hopefully spread some awareness and help raise some funds to give back to the incredible foundation.

Over the last 4 years my beautiful Aunt Lucia (or as we call her Auntie Loo) has been battling an ongoing fight against cancer. She’s a mother of two incredible children, a wife, friend, daughter and to me, like a big sister more than anything.

With what started off a breast cancer diagnosis in 2020 transitioned to a double mastectomy, reconstruction and finally remission. That being said, we thought we were in the clear over the last couple of years but the battle is unfortunately far from over. 

In July this past year, they discovered  some new mets found in her bones, liver, spleen and brain.  With quick work from the oncologist teams, surgeries were set, shuns were placed and a new course of treatment was put into place at an incredibly quick rate thanks to the folks at BC Cancer Foundation.  

Im not going to lie, the last few months have really had been a scary but also a strong reminder for me that family is so incredibly important and showing up is half the battle.

Recently after some new scans, they found that the treatment has been working with no further growths and even a decrease in the spleen mass. That being said, it’s a battle nonetheless and I wanted to do something within my control to give back to the foundation that has been working tirelessly to support not only my family but many others around the world.
