My Story…
Long distance running is back and this time I'm running for a cause! I'll be running the Pittsburgh Half Marathon and I'm hoping to raise money for the ALS Association of Western Pennsylvania.
My Aunt Annie was diagnosed with ALS in 2020. She fought ALS with bravery and grace that left me in awe. Even when she lost her mobility and power of speech, visiting with her always brought so much joy and I will always cherish the visits we made to Pittsburgh to spend time together during these past few year.
We lost my Aunt Annie in June of 2023 after her courageous fight. In honor of Aunt Annie, I'm running for the ALS Association to help raise money for those still fighting the battle, and for research to hopefully find a cure for this terrible disease.
Description
The ALS Association Western Pennsylvania Chapter and Team Challenge ALS are running in honor of those currently living with ALS and in remembrance of those we have lost to the disease. The funds raised by our team provide help and hope to those living with ALS by supporting local patient care, advocacy, and global research to find treatments and a cure for this always fatal disease.
