Why I support The Pittsburgh Project
My family will participate in the Pittsburgh Marathon's race weekend activities on May 3rd and 4th. I will participate in the Pittsburgh Marathon Relay with other Pittsburgh Project staff and friends, and Alana, Elijah, Danitra, and I will run the 1-mile Kids Marathon.
We are running to raise funds for The Pittsburgh Project. As the Executive Director of TPP, I am partial to our work. Still, I am excited to run on behalf of the organization and have another opportunity to share some of the incredible work we do on the Northside of Pittsburgh through our Out of School Time programs and community partnerships. I'm excited to train with my family over the next few months and am excited for the other runners who will be running with me!
I am not much of a runner, but I get excited about this race every year. I hope you'll donate to support TPP and encourage me; I need every bit of encouragement to get through the race.
Description
The Pittsburgh Project strives to care for people by sharing hope, empowering youth and building community. We have served the residents of the Northside for the past 40 years. We offer innovative educational opportunities for children and youth K-12 grades, through summer camps and after school programs. We assist community residents through partnerships with the URA and local church groups. Thank you for partnering with us to "Run for a Reason"!
