My Story…
Hey there,
I’m excited to announce that I’ll be participating in the 2025 DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon weekend, but this year, I’m running for a purpose. 🏃♀️💙
I’ve chosen to run in support of 412 Food Rescue, an incredible organization that’s dedicated to tackling food insecurity and food waste right here in our community.
Here are some statistics from Allegheny County in 2022 that show why this cause is so important:
1 in 8 individuals are food insecure— a 25% increase from the previous year.
1 in 6 children face hunger— a 33% increase.
1 in 3 Black neighbors are food insecure— a 32% increase.
1 in 5 Hispanic neighbors face food insecurity— a 20% increase.
1 in 10 White neighbors are food insecure— a 30% increase.
These numbers are shocking, and they show us just how urgent this issue is. 412 Food Rescue is on a mission to ensure that good food goes to people who need it, not landfills. Their core values include:
Everyone has a right to healthy food
Good food belongs to people, not landfills
Urgent action is needed to combat climate change
I’m running to raise funds for this amazing cause, and I would love your support! Your donation, no matter the amount, will help 412 Food Rescue continue their incredible work in our community.
If you’d like to learn more about 412 Food Rescue and the work they do, check out their website here.
Thank you so much for your generosity and support! Together, we can make a difference. 💚
