My Story…
My mom was diagnosed with MS when I was a little girl and for most of my childhood she was in a wheelchair due to the advanced nature of her M.S. Doctors were skeptical if she would ever be able to walk again. I can say now in 2025, through physical therapy and determination my mom is walking again. That does not mean she does not have struggles. She fights this vicious disease every single day of her life, but she has never complained or asked "why me?". She is one of my inspirations behind what a strong woman looks like.
I began running in September of 2024 and I loved how it made me feel as if I could achieve anything. It is a feeling unlike any other. I never thought I could be a runner since I did not fit the typical runner profile, but I am here less than a year into this running journey proving that anyone can run and be a runner and to always embrace your pace.
My goal for running this year was to run a half marathon and I wanted to do it for a charity with a personal connection. It is an honor to have this opportunity to run for Finish MS. Support me on this running journey by donating so I can run my first half marathon, slow and steady for my mom!
If there is one thing I have come to realize it is that movement of any kind is a gift that is often taken for granted. There are people out there that cannot move their body at all and this is why I am racing, for those people. It is their heart and spirit that will propel me to the finish line of these 13.1 miles.
