My Story…
Do you know what Variety Pittsburgh is? I didn't either until I was asked by my good friend, Tom Baker (CEO of Variety), asked me to learn more and volunteer to sit on the Variety Movement Board (VBM). Over the last year, I have been able to witness the good that this organization does for our children with disabilities. Along the way, I have met so many amazing families positively impacted by the work that this organization does for our community. It is with your help that they can continue to provide life-changing equipment for children.
Variety has three programs that are at the core of the mission of helping children to be children.
1. The My Bike program has given over 3,000 bikes to children that have disabilities so they can experience joy, freedom, and a sense of belonging to the community.
2. The My Stroller program provides a way that children with disabilities can interact in the community safely.
3. The My Voice program provides a device for children with nonverbal needs to communicate.
I have witnessed firsthand the amazing work that this organization has done. I was able to attend a bike presentation where I interacted with local families as they received a bike or stroller for their child. The presentation was full of joy and hope for these families.
Your donations to my campaign will directly go to help provide these life-changing items for our local children. Be a hero! Donate today.

Description
Your donation will help kids with disabilities BE KIDS, so please consider a gift of any amount to celebrate my running for VARIETY in the 2025 DICK'S Sporting goods Pittsburgh Marathon Weekend!
With a mission to empower children with disabilities to live life to the fullest, Variety the Children’s Charity provides life-changing mobility and communication equipment to ensure our most vulnerable kids are no longer left out, left behind, or excluded.
Variety offers three adaptive equipment programs for eligible kids and families who can consider one, two, or all three pieces of equipment. These programs are truly opening newfound possibilities for kids and their families to live healthier, safer, and more fulfilling lives at home, school, and throughout the community!
- Variety’s My Bike Program provides new Rifton adaptive bikes (including stationary stands and prescribed accessories) to eligible children with disabilities, so they can experience the joy, freedom, and belonging from riding a bike – including the therapeutic and recreational benefits.
- Variety’s My Stroller Program provides Convaid EZ Rider adaptive strollers to eligible kids with disabilities to increase their mobility, inclusion, and safety - especially for ambulatory kids living with elopement issues and no safety awareness. An adaptive stroller allows for easier “on-the-go” mobility and participation in daily activities for the child and their whole family.
- Variety’s My Voice Program provides a communication device (i.e., a restricted iPad with a prescribed communication app) to eligible children who are nonverbal (or have a communication disorder) to ensure they are never without a voice.
Since Variety must raise the funds to provide every piece of equipment, any donation amount truly makes a difference!
