As a woman in STEM, I advocate for the biomedical community to take women more seriously, both as researchers but also as subjects of research.

Though women's repoductive health is often a topic of political debate, there are many fundamental misunderstandings about women's health that need more attention given to them and more education about them.

From the Magee-Womens Research Institute & Foundation website:

We are the largest research institute in the U.S. dedicated to women’s health and reproductive biology. From woman-controlled HIV protection to therapies that could prevent the recurrence of ovarian cancer, we are impacting lives every day.

We see a better, healthier world in which women’s health has the scientific prominence and cultural status it deserves.
