My Story…
Please consider sponsoring my half marathon and donating to Open Hand Ministries' work in Pittsburgh! Pittsburgh is a wonderful city and a great new home for me, but, like much of the US, it suffers from intense wealth and housing inequality. Only 30% of black households own a home, compared to 50% of white households. Lending for home-owning is much lower in predominately white vs. minority neighborhoods.
Open Hand Ministries works with families to make financial plans and become first-time homeowners. Sponsoring runners in the Pittsburgh marathon and half-marathon is their main source of funding for the year!
