My Story…
Hi everyone!
I am running the 2025 UPMC Health Plan | UPMC Sport Medicine Pittsburgh 5K in order to help raise funds for Open Field!
The Pittsburgh 5K has always been a special race for me. It is the race where I earned my first road race victory, set my 5K personal record, and enjoyed the support of the Pittsburgh running community. This year, the Pittsburgh 5K has allowed me to fundraise for a cause close to my heart: Open Field. This organization teaches life skills to immigrant and refugee children living in the Crafton and Northview Heights neighborhoods of Pittsburgh through the vehicle of soccer. Having coached many of the youth players involved with Open Field, I have a deep appreciation for the organization's work. I hope to use this opportunity to help provide them with further support.
Your donations will help Open Field continue to provide valuable resources and opportunities that allow underserved immigrant and refugee children to learn valuable life lessons through soccer-based programming. Description
Open Field's mission is to improve the lives and futures of youth through sport. Open Field connects with youth, primarily immigrants and refugees, in low resource neighborhoods in Allegheny County to improve health, support education, empower girls, build leadership skills, and promote peace through the global game of soccer.
