Five Run for Rocky events took place annually beginning in April of 2013  through April of 2017.  After a 5 year hiatus the event returned in conjunction with Windsor Essex Pride Fest in August of 2022.  The fundraising efforts through this event has established a fund that support Gay Straight Alliances in local high schools, senior years of grade schools and post secondary schools in Windsor Essex along with support for local 2SLGBTQ+ plus agencies. This financial support includes GSA grants, GSA scholarships, funding students and educators to go to GSA educational conferences, the purchase of educational resources that help support parents and educators and Diversity Training for educators. The funding model to support GSA's financially is unique to all of Canada. 100% of funds raised stay in Windsor Essex with no overhead or staffing costs
