JOIN US for our 2nd Annual Miles for Mamas 5K event! This significant event is poised to occur in the heart of downtown Jackson, serving as a celebratory culmination to Black Maternal Health Week 2025! Our event goes beyond just a run – it's a community wellness initiative aimed at raising awareness about the current state of maternal health in Mississippi. We're not just talking about it; we're taking action to support better health outcomes for Black mothers and babies in our state. Mississippi faces significant challenges when it comes to the health of expectant mothers and their babies. Sadly, our state ranks among the highest in the nation for maternal and infant mortality. This is why we're reaching out to our community, because we believe that, together, we can make a positive change in maternal healthcare right here in Mississippi.
Our main mission for this event is to raise awareness and gather support for organizations that are dedicated to ensuring moms and their babies receive the care they need. We also want to ignite a meaningful conversation about how we, as a community, can unite to protect and support our moms and little ones.
