Help Andrea raise money

Dear family, friends, & loved ones,

I have been struggling to write this description since my initial sign up for the marathon in October. Partially because my reason for fundraising is not my story, but my father’s. 

In 2022 the world began to open up again post COVID-19, people were celebrating the freedom to experience life as normal. But for my family, our lives changed when my father was diagnosed with two primary cancers. Since 2022, Dad bravely went through countless appointments, tests, chemotherapy, radiation, surgeries and immunotherapy. I have watched him keep strong for our family as he continues to fight one of the toughest battles anyone could face. 

My Dad is one of the most important people in my life. He has always been my biggest supporter and teacher in life. Over the years, Dad has taught me to fight for what I want and never settle, he's inspired my love of sports and athleticism, and I definitely inherited his sense of humour (even though I'm nowhere near as funny as he is). Throughout this journey, he has always kept his eye on the finish line regardless of what hurdles has been thrown his way. His optimism and "let's get this done" attitude is inspiring beyond belief.

We have been fortunate that his treatment has been mainly through Princess Margaret Hospital where the staff, doctors and nurses have given him the best care through this time. Every staff member has been knowledgeable, empathetic and supportive to our entire family. Raising money for the Princess Margaret Foundation is my way of hopefully giving back for the help they’ve given my dad over the years. 

Please help me raise my fundraising goal so that I can contribute to my dad’s fight by supporting the hospital. Any amount helps regardless of how little or small.
