Welcome to another year of the Sarnia Sole Burner!
This year offers 3 professionally timed loop style races with distances as follows:
Mama Didn’t Raise No Fool 5K(ish) Run Presented by Refined Fool.
Kern Water's 6 Hour Sole Burn
Lambton Sanitation's 12 Hour Sole Burn
These will all be taking place on a (roughly) 2.35K loop at Suncor Park/Wawanosh Wetlands. This is a fully paved path with the first half of the loop containing a few "hills" that will get you up to about 20M per loop.
Rain or shine but expect the shine.
100% of the proceeds will be donated to a rotational yearly charity. This years charity of choice will be the Sarnia Humane Society.
Due to popular demand we will be offering a Kids 1K fun-run (10 years of age and under) available for 10$ on race morning. This event will be free for kids whose parent/guardian is registered in the 6/12 HR.

Aid Station/Bathroom
Water and Aid will be available at the start/finish line. You can anticipate a fully stocked aid station with snacks and water. In an effort to reduce waste, please bring your own reusable cup if you have one. Please keep in mind until we reach a sponsorship with a nutrition company everything will be pre packaged and store bought. If you want gels please bring your own.
Three portable washrooms will be located at the start/finish line.
Drop Bags
6 Hour runners are allowed one drop bag.
There is limited space for tents for 12 hour runners but they will be first come first serve. Not for overnight use.
Pacers
There will be no pacers allowed for the 6 hour. 12 hour runners can pick up a pacer at the 6 hour mark. Only one pacer allowed per runner. They will have to sign a waiver at packet pickup or on race day.
Prizes and Swag
Every 5K finisher will receive a Sole Burner Medal.
Every registration will receive a Sarnia Sole Burner technical t-shirt.
6 and 12 Hour Finishers will also receive a mesh style trucker hat. Aid station visits can not last longer than five minutes or you are DNF. If you are walking, or crawling... that is okay.
The 6 and 12 Hour Race will have PRIZE MONEY. That’s correct, we are giving out cold hard cash. These races will only have one "winner" from each gender. This will be the individual who does the most loops in the time period before cut off. The amount of prize money will be directly determined by bibs sold. If the event sells out we are offering 250$ and 500$ for the 6 and 12 hour winners as well as free entry into the 2026 event.
All swag created for this event will be made locally in an effort to stimulate the local economy. Pictured below is the stuff from 2024.
But everyone knows the real prize is finishing the event, supporting a great cause and getting to see some of those race photos which will be available for free after the race day.
Parking
Please note that there is very limited parking at Wawanosh Wetlands (6013 Blackwell Sideroad) and much of the parking lot on the Suncor side will be taken up by the tents for the event. Please carpool and try to find parking at St Pats (1001 The Rapids Pkwy) or St Anne (1000 The Rapids Pkwy) before walking to the start line. If you plan on picking up your race packet on race morning please give yourself ample time to do so.
Refunds
There are no refunds/bib transfers for this event. This event will happen rain or shine. If you aren't registered by May 28th we cannot guarantee a specific t-shirt size for you.
While there is no qualifications requirement for this event, runners are expected to have adequate experience for the race. We recommend that you have at least ran a standard marathon for the 6 hour, and at the very least a 50K for the 12 hour.
Sole Burner Endurance reserves the right to refuse entry.
