Canadian Blood Services collaborates with patient groups, care providers, health system leaders, communities of donors, other blood service organizations and governments to continuously improve the effectiveness of Canada’s health systems and achieve the best possible patient outcomes. Working with this diverse community of stakeholders, we contribute to the advancement and excellence of both national and international networks focused on transfusion and transplantation. 

Financial donations help us educate, recruit and retain blood donors, making sure we can always meet patient needs. And with more diseases and conditions being treated with plasma derived products, financial donations are helping us increase plasma collection which also helps us increase our national plasma sufficiency, making sure the products are here in Canada and available to Canadian patients. Donations support the expansion and diversification of our stem cell registry, making sure that treatment is available for any Canadian patient who needs it. And they support research with the goal of improving systems and making transfusion and transplantation medicine more efficient and more effective, impacting patients present and future.
