Volunteer details
Volunteer with Seattle Marathon Association
There is a role for everyone and you can invite your friends, no experience necessary! Whether you sign up as a course marshal, water station attendant, registration or finish line support, you will earn unfailing gratitude from our runners and the SMA staff.
Day-of-Race Registration/Bib Pickup
Shift Time: 6:00am -9:30am
The race day package pickup volunteer will be responsible for passing out racing packages the day of the race and helping set up/take down of registration area.
Course Marshal
Shift Time: 7:00am - 1:00pm
Course marshals will be responsible for remaining near the course to keep racers on course and offering them encouragement.
Water/Aid Stations
Shift Time: 7:30am - 12:30pm
Water station volunteers will be responsible for handing out water to the racers so they can hydrate before, during, and after the race.
Event Setup
Shift Time: 5:00am - 8:00am
Help SMA staff set up start/finish line and course
Event Cleanup
Shift Time: 11:00am - 1:00pm
Help SMA staff tear down and clean up start/finish line and course
Finish Line Support
Shift Time: 8:00am - 12:00pm
Finish line volunteers will be responsible for cheering on participants as they approach the finish line, handing out medals, distributing food and water, and directing runners towards the vendor area for further refreshments
Kids Fun Run Support
Shift Time: 9:00am - 11:00am
