Our story…

Hey everyone, I'm Drew Kopas. You may know me from the Cleveland or DC theater communities, the wide world of audiobooks, the fair town of Cheverly, or our hacky sack/chili/hummus circle. I'm running the Cleveland Marathon on May 18th. It's my hometown and I've always wanted to run this race. Even back when it was sponsored by Revco in the 90's.

My very good friend and fellow running teammate, Benjamin Turney is the Program Director for Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry’s Youth Resiliency Services. They work with youth who are homeless, runaway, throwaway, or taken from their homes due to abuse and neglect. The program includes a Youth Shelter and an Independent Living continuum of care for transition age youth to gain core life skills to become self sufficient within the community. Services help prevent homelessness, and may provide respite or support transition planning to help youth progress toward independence. I am running to raise awareness and support for the Youth Resiliency Program. All donations will directly support the youth in this program.

If you have a few extra bones to spare, please throw them this way. It's a great cause! Benjamin has been doing exemplary work for LMM for as long as I can remember.

The more donations I get, the faster I'll run. Let's get me under four hours thirty minutes! My legs are tired just typing that.

Lastly, in case you were wondering, the name of this running team is an amalgamation of where we all met, the Cleveland State University Factory Theater circa 2000-2005, and Jamin's favorite hip hop group.
