My Story…
As many of you know, hunger is a challenge that too many families in our community face every day. As a teacher I know all to well how important it is for kids to come to school each day ready to learn, yet many children are sitting in classrooms feeling hungry and wondering where their next meal will come from.
Second Harvest Heartland is setting a course to cut number in half for all Minnesotans by 2030. One way they hope to do this is through fundraising and partnerships. As many of you know running is a passion of mine and when I heard Twin Cities in Motion. Second Harvest Heartland, Sweatband Collective and Lululemon were joining forces, I knew this was a group I wanted to join.
Description
I am participating in a Twin Cities Marathon Weekend race and have chosen to support Second Harvest Heartland as a charity runner!
Second Harvest Heartland is a leading hunger-relief organization. In partnership with more than 1,000 food shelves and hunger-relief programs in Minnesota and western Wisconsin, they provided 145 million meals to neighbors last year. They also help families enroll in food assistance and provide prepared meals for people who need more than groceries. Second Harvest Heartland is a leader, convener and voice in hunger-related policy discussions.
I'm proud to run for a cause that matters to me and my community during the weekend of October 3-5. Please support me in my efforts!
