After what seemed the longest year, the 2024 event came around and with it a field peppered with some very capable runners. The favourites prior to the start were likely widely accepted as last year's female winner Narcisa Finnila, and both James Blanton and Ryan Crawford following their DNF tie in '23. They didn't disappoint with all three producing some gritty performances.
Narcisa brought home the ladies race with an Australian ladies record of 51 laps, followed by team James/Ryan running to the precipice of a fourth day, finishing together once more on 72 hours. The latter was all the more impressive given the foul conditions they experienced in the final ten hours.
We can't wait to see what 2025 brings!
