Hi friends!

I’ve always been a huge animal lover, and adopting rescue dogs has truly been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. That’s why I’m running Grandma’s Marathon as a charity runner for Animal Allies—an organization that does incredible work for animals in the local community.

Let me introduce you to my inspiration:

💛 Kato was our lovable troublemaker—a dog with a big personality and even bigger heart. One of my favorite memories is of Kato surfing (yes, surfing!) at the Walk for the Animals in Tempe, Arizona. He was always the star of the show and a total ham every day of his life. We had to say goodbye to Kato last fall, but his spirit keeps me smiling (and keeps me moving!) on every training run.

💛 Pickles is our sweet, brave girl. She started out very shy but has blossomed into the kindest, most loyal companion. Pickles reminds me every day how rescue dogs can bloom with a little love and patience.

I’ve seen firsthand the amazing work that Animal Allies does through their events and community programs, and I’m proud to run this race in support of their mission.
