When and where?

  • On a spring evening at the Westmount Sports Park and the beautiful Laurel Trail.

What?

  • A great standalone 5k run
  • A doubleheader - the 5k is followed by an 8k 90 minutes later, for extra challenge, swag, and bragging rights!
  • A fun untimed 400m run.

What else

  • Between the races / after your race, there is live entertainment, a barbecue, and the running of the untimed 400m!

  • Yes! This race started in 2003 and has taken place in various locations in Waterloo, Cambridge, Elmira, and Elora! New home for 2025. Explore the history of this 5k + 8k challenge.

  • Two separate races, with separate and combined results. First, a 5k, then an 8k. Includes one finisher medal for the 5k and an additional magnetic component for the series (after the 8k). T-shirts are available for an additional cost, while supplies last.

  • Strollers and their passengers are free, and must be registered through this system. In the event, they must be accompanied (pushed) by a participant in a different sub-event. Finisher medals aren't included.

Registration Policy

Refunds are not available, but deferrals and transfers are outlined in the waiver that each participant agrees to upon registration. For any help or clarification, the only channel available to participants is to email registrationpolicy@runwaterloo.com. This is the only inbox where registration policy questions are received, and we reply quickly with information and address concerns.

  • Fri., April 11, 2025 5:00 p.m. - Kit Pickup at Runners' Choice until 7:00 p.m.
  • Sat., April 12, 2025 2:30 p.m. - Kit Pickup at Westmount Sports Park until 4:00 p.m.
  • Sat., April 12, 2025 4:30 p.m. - 5 KM start
  • Sat., April 12, 2025 5:00 p.m. - Intermission: 400m fun run, live music, food (until 7:30)
  • Sat., April 12, 2025 6:00 p.m. - 8 KM start (doubleheader only)
