It's Time to Step Up, Speak Out, and
Make A Difference!
Plant A Seed is rallying the community for an event that truly matters. On May 18, 2025, we're hosting a powerful 5K/Walk Against Human Trafficking, and we need you to be a part of this essential movement!
Make Every Step Count: Lace up your shoes and take strides toward a world free from human trafficking. Whether you're a seasoned runner, a casual walker, or somewhere in between, your steps matter in the fight against exploitation.
Unite for Change: When you take part in this event, you're not just walking or running; you're extending a lifeline to survivors of human trafficking. A percentage of the proceeds will be devoted to the Paso del Norte Center of Hope, a beacon of hope for those who have endured unimaginable suffering. Your participation becomes a direct channel of support, breathing life into their mission of healing, empowerment, and renewal. Join us in making each step not just a stride forward but a giant leap towards brighter futures for survivors.
Sponsorship and Donor Opportunities:

About Plant A Seed
At Plant A Seed, we're not just an organization; we're a passionate force dedicated to transforming the lives of El Paso's Latinx and underserved communities.
Our founders, Wendy and Miguel Gamillo, are first-generation Mexican Americans who grew up right here in El Paso, they intimately understand the unique challenges faced by our neighbors. Wendy, a former case manager, saw firsthand how traditional social service programs often fell short in addressing complex, systemic issues.
Motivated by these experiences, Wendy took action. She envisioned Plant A Seed, as a powerful force for change, a non-profit that bridges the gaps, and provides comprehensive, holistic support to those who need it most. Her unwavering dedication, boundless empathy, and sheer determination form the bedrock of our organization's mission and values.
At Plant A Seed, we're not just empowering our community; we're sowing the seeds of change and raising awareness about issues that matter. Thank you for showing interest in both the Race Against Human Trafficking and Plant A Seed. Together, let's not just sow the seeds of change but also nurture them to cultivate a thriving and resilient community.
About our Beneficiary: Paso del Norte Center of Hope
The mission of the Paso del Norte Center of Hope, “The Center” is to protect victims of human trafficking and modern-day slavery and to lead anti-trafficking efforts within the region through outreach, education, and victim centered services. The Center became an established 501(c)3 in May 2013 and has served over 450 confirmed victims of human trafficking in the Paso del Norte Region since. The Center has been responsible for leading the efforts of the El Paso Anti-Human Trafficking Coalition since 2017 and is recognized by local partners as the primary Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Youth (CSEY) Advocacy Agency for El Paso County and the only adult serving anti-trafficking agency in El Paso.
The Center provides 24/7 crisis response services upon notification from law enforcement, care coordinators, medical providers, local shelters, child welfare, juvenile probation, community partners, and the victims themselves. In addition to crisis response, services include providing emergency shelter, basic needs, intensive/long-term case management, advocacy, transportation, personal/emotional support, and support in justice activities to individuals who have been identified as being a victim of sex or labor trafficking. Services provided under the Center’s programs address all aspects of the medical, psychiatric, psychological, safety, and housing needs of all identified victims of trafficking.
