Help LUKE raise money

For participating in 2025 Vancouver Half Marathon

My Story…

Hi. You're probably wondering why you should part with your hard earned currency to support me running an event that a baby could conceivably do. First off, you'd be supporting ElderDog Canada, an organization that is absolutely worth your money. We'll get back to that in a bit.

This race will allow me to face, and possibly overcome, what is likely to be a very public betrayal by my forty year old body. I have not and will not train for this race. I notoriously have the ankles of a porcelain doll. Like many adult men, I do not drink nearly enough water in my day to day life. With every plodding step and every laboured breath I expect the full heat of the sun to drive me a little further into the pavement. I will end this race either at the finish line or in the basement of St. Paul's Hospital.

If we can get back on track, I'd like to talk about the work ElderDog Canada is doing in our world. They are an entirely volunteer run organization that supports older adults and their dogs with care. The money raised will help low-income seniors with vet bills for their dogs, as well as providing supplies for dogs being fostered or re-homed.

Thank you so much for your help!

Description

Help us keep love in the home! Run, walk or wheel for ElderDog and help raise money to cover the costs of our emergency foster program including food, supplies and veterinary care. It will also help ElderDog cover veterinary expenses for ElderDog clients for whom finances are a barrier. We honour and preserve the human-canine bond and all of its social and emotional benefits.
