Through an incredible journey from surgery and chemotherapy to endurance training and ultramarathons, Phil found a lifestyle change and a new purpose. After defeating cancer two times and realizing how blessed his family was, he decided there weren’t enough resources to help kids who have lost a parent to cancer. Running for Dreams is here to change that.
We are back for our 3rd year of Phil Phest 5K!
All proceeds from the race go to the Running For Dreams Foundation.
In the past two years we have raised over $25,000 (each year) to help families who have been impacted by the loss of a parent due to cancer. Help us reach our goal of $30,000 for Year 3!!!
Your registration includes a chip-timed race, numbered bib, custom unisex event t-shirt, and a finisher medal.

Changes for 2025! We have moved locations - The pre and post race Phest will take place at the old Colonial Country Club in Harahan. Same area, same great vibes! The race will be 100% on the MS River Levee jogging path at sunset. See course info below for more details.

Event Details
THE COURSE
The race will start and finish on the Mississippi River jogging path and Fortier Lane. Participants will run on the right side of the jogging path at all times. There will be a water station near the turnaround point at 1.55 miles. All runners will return back to the finish and immediately head to the post race festivities.
We love dogs, but we discourage them on such a narrow course. If you do bring your dog please start at the back of the pack, and keep on a short leash, as to not trip or interfere with other runners.
POST RACE
The post-race fest will begin immediately following the race on the grounds of the old Colonial Country Club
Join us for live music by Refried Confuzion, amazing food and drinks courtesy of Inland Seafood, Fortune Fish, Southern Eagle, Coca-Cola and so much more!
AWARDS
Awards will be presented at 7PM during the post-race festivities. Awards will be distributed in the following divisions:
