2025 Run the Highlands 5K and Family Trail Walk

Run the Highlands is celebrating 20 YEARS! This highly anticipated, family-friendly event brings the community together and gives back all at the same time. In 2025, we're excited to again offer a USATF-sanctioned 5k race, a 1-mile family walk with entertainment along the way, and a children's carnival full of games and activities.

The funds we raise from your race registration, donation and/or sponsorship are given directly back to Lake Highlands. LHJWL will add a gateway sign and landscape enhancements that will welcome visitors to the Lake Highlands community. The project will both beautify the border of our community, and set Lake Highlands apart as a distinct and unique neighborhood of Dallas.

Race Details:

7:45 AM: Streets close

8:00 AM: Warm-up begins

8:30 AM: 5K Race* begins across from the Lake Highlands North Aquatic Center

8:45 AM: 1 mile Family Trail Walk begins

9:00 AM-11:00 AM: Carnival!

Discounts:

• Youth discounts of $5 for 12 and under will be automatically applied at the end of your transaction.
• Groups of 4 or more in the same transaction will get $5 off each registration and will be automatically applied at the end of your transaction.

Race Day, Saturday, April 12th

• Location: LHJWL Tent (near starting line)
• Time: 7:30 - 8:20 AM

Parking and Road Closures:

Access to parking at LHHS will be closed when roads close at 7:45 am. Parking is also available on neighborhood streets. Roads along the race route will reopen at 10:00 am; Church Road between the High School and Rec Center will reopen at 11:00am.
