How to Volunteer

This day could not be possible without the help of so many amazing volunteers. If you are looking to support the airport and the USO, get more involved with ONT or need community service hours, here is your chance! The entire event is an opportunity for the community to interact with the airport, and the more we can have our community involved – especially as volunteers – the more special it makes everything.

If you’re interested in volunteering for ONT’s 5K at the Runway on February 8, 2025, please apply below. Our staff will get back to you soon so that we all can begin planning for the big day! All volunteers will receive an event shirt, lunch and breaks. Final shift timelines will be determined closer to the date of event.

Volunteer Job Responsibilities

We need volunteers in so many different areas! Last year we relied on volunteers in the following areas:

• Booth Coverage
• Cheer on runners
• Crowd Control
• Help event set up/tear down
• ID Check
• Leads (lead activities like paper plane competition)
• Merch Booth
• Registration
• Runners/Floaters
• Trash Pick Up
• Water Station
• …and more!
