Do you want your child to learn navigational skills while also getting some physical exercise and socialising with their friends? SC-ORE ticks all these boxes!
Over 4 Thursday mornings, SC-ORE (SChool ORienteering) offers some running and navigation skills practice with a real map while having fun with friends in a team-based activity.
What is orienteering?
Orienteering is a navigation sport where you visit checkpoints in a specific order using a map. The map gives you information about the area, and you decide on your own route to get around the course from point to point.
Good to know: you don’t need to be a fast runner to do well at orienteering! Navigation through map reading is a big part of the sport – a skill all orienteers continue to hone. The fastest orienteers can both run fast and navigate well – and do it concurrently.
Orienteering is a sport for life – suitable for all ages and all abilities. Let your child try it in this safe and fun environment!
No previous experience is needed for kids to try SC-ORE! Before each event we hold an instructive briefing for everyone. Our coaches are there along the courses to coach the children to solve their navigation problems themselves during the event - when needed. The kids learn as they go!

School name A, School name B, School name C, etc
Eg. Campbell A, Campbell B and so on.
Simply use school name and a letter of the alphabet. This makes it easier for our computer entry set up.
(If you can not provide a team letter, write "School name X" followed by the names of your teammates (if known).)
Incomplete Teams
So you haven't yet got a full team. Don't panic!
Just register your child.
Registration can be incremental. And we will endeavour to make up complete teams as well as we can, even if these are mixed school teams.
