Join us for the 2nd Annual Butterfly Run on Saturday, April 12, 2025!
The Butterfly Run benefits Her Well. Her Well is a 501c3 Non-profit that is dedicated to serving survivors of sexual assault in the Waller, Fort Bend, and Harris counties. We advocate and guide Survivors to reclaim their hope, regain their voice, and resist isolation.
Her Well will guide survivors to overcome the fear of their past and heal mentally, physically, and spiritually. This event will continue to help Her Well provide quality crisis intervention services to anyone who may need it, without a fee.
Her Well is committed to ending sexual and domestic violence through education, counseling, medical care, and basic self-defense courses.
Her Well shares how the healing transformation after trauma is similar to the transformation process of a butterfly.
1. The Caterpillar Stage – A Life Before Healing
A caterpillar crawls through life, limited in movement and perspective. Similarly, trauma can leave individuals feeling stuck, burdened by pain, and unable to see beyond their current circumstances. They may carry the weight of past wounds, unsure of what the future holds.
2. The Chrysalis Stage – The Process of Healing
In order to transform, the caterpillar enters a chrysalis—a dark, confined space where it undergoes an intense process of change. Likewise, healing from trauma often requires stepping into a place of reflection, surrender, and deep inner work. It can feel isolating, even painful, as old wounds are confronted and new strength is developed. But within this sacred space, transformation is taking place.
3. The Breaking Free Stage – Emerging with Strength
After a period of transformation, the butterfly begins to break through the chrysalis. It struggles, pushing against its confines, but this struggle is necessary—because it strengthens its wings. In the same way, survivors who endure the healing process develop resilience, courage, and a renewed sense of self. Every challenge overcome is a step toward freedom.
4. The Butterfly Stage – Thriving in a New Life
Finally, the butterfly emerges, no longer bound to the ground but soaring in the beauty of its new identity. Healing leads survivors to a place of renewal, where they are no longer defined by their past but empowered to step into the fullness of life. They embrace their God-given purpose, experiencing joy, freedom, and hope.
Before you complete your registration, Her Well invites you to take part in a special moment—the LIVE Butterfly Release Ceremony. 🦋
At checkout, you’ll have the opportunity to purchase a butterfly to be released before the run begins. Each butterfly will be set free in honor and memory of a survivor, symbolizing our collective hope, support, and encouragement as they journey toward healing and freedom.
Join us in this beautiful tribute and help us celebrate the transformation and resilience of survivors.
