Our Story
Cancer touched our lives in December of 2017, when Sophie was diagnosed with Stage 4 neuroblastoma. I have shared her story many times, her trials and tribulations. Over 200 days in hospital, over 100 chemotherapy sessions, 100's of blood and platelet transfusions, over 500 finger pokes, 250 injections, 21 immunotherapy sessions, an 11 hour surgery, and 2 bone marrow transplants later, to this day, she continues to fight an incredible battle. Her cancer has reduced from 21 to 3 tumors now, but its still there. Everyday is a ticking time bomb, you never know which bump, which bruise could be the one which could bring us back into hospital.
During these 7 years, life has had its ups and downs, but the one constant source of support has been CAMPFIRE CIRCLE. This incredible organization has brought joy and laughter to not just Sophie but countless others like her who have battled or are battling life threatening illness.
A few days at camp, the Halloween parties, the chocolate making sessions, Slime making, crafts and other things that we all take for granted add immeasurable joy for kids with cancer. Campfire Circle gives back the childhood back to these kids which had been stolen by Cancer.
These are incredibly kind, generous and happy people who spread the same kindness joy and laughter all around them.

For over 40 years Campfire Circle has provided play-based experiences through our in-hospital, community, and overnight camps for kids with cancer or serious illness and their families. We empower kids to take back their childhood, regardless of their medical diagnosis.
Now, more than ever, kids with serious illness and their families need moments of joy, connection, and healing.
