Harold Town Conservation Area
Welcome to “Lines and Loops” a special event trail race celebrating 31 years of conservation and the donation of the land from the late artist, Harold Town! Join us on the spectacular trails of this uniquely rewarding conservation gem, just outside of the city of Peterborough, Ontario. Run a dynamic 6k lap; take on the challenge of an 18k, or push your limits to 'sweatelebrate' the with a 30k in one of Otonabee Conservation Area's stunning conservation areas. All runners will receive a plantable, handcrafted 100% biodegradable earth medal loaded with indigenous wildflower seeds that support our pollinators, lovingly made by @becsinabag. As well, a tree will be planted for every race entry as we challenge ourselves to give back to the trails we love. Lot's of fun for everyone including a Kid's free 1K and timed Kids' 3K. For bigs, pick a 6K, 18K or a 30K! This race will challenge you at any distance.

Car pool to this event to help save our environment. Hand made wild flower seed medals will be available for all finishers. A tree will be planted in the spring for each registrant. Course Description, Distances, Map
This little gem of the Oak Ridges Moraine might surprise you with its capacity to wear you out. Harold Town Conservation Area is part of the Otonabee-South Monaghan network of trails and we are excited to celebrate our annual Green Newton Adventures trail run in partnership with local Peterborough stores; Wild Rock, Runner's Life and the Harold Town community. This trail route provides a scenic view from the top of the Meade creek Drumlin which is part of the Peterborough Drumlin Field and has been identified as a significant natural heritage feature within the Otonabee Conservation watershed. Join us in celebrating the beauty these special trails at Harold Town Conservation Area have to offer.
Important Notes
In the interest of racer safety and because of the size of our attendance and the technicality of our course, please do not bring the following on the race course:
No dogs
No headphones
No strollers or baby joggers
No nordic walking poles
Parking: Parking is located in a kind neighbour's farm field, approximately 400 m from the start line, across the road from Harold Town Conservation Area. Please arrive early to allow for walking time to the registration table.
Washrooms: Washroom facilities and outhouses are available at the Start/Finish area.
Spectators: Spectators Welcome...best viewing is from Start/Finish area.
Awards & Prizes: The awards ceremony will be held following the completion of all competitors. Awards are given to the top three female, male and non-binary finishers in each age category in all distances, as well as the top three female, male and non-binary overall finishers. All awards must be picked up at the race and will not be mailed.
We are proudly a cup-free event: For all races and events, please bring your own reusable cup/container. Thank you for being part of our commitment to the environment!
