My Story…
Hi! On May 24th, I will be running the Halifax Bumrun for colon cancer for my mom! This time last year mom went to the ER after months of misdiagnosed stomach pain and was told she had cancer in her lymph nodes. A month later she was re-diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer through a colonoscopy. Other than that, she had no symptoms, and was still working, running, and going to yoga up until her diagnosis. We didn’t know of any family history of colon cancer and we didn’t realize how mild symptoms could be, so as you can imagine the news was a complete shock. If you are able, please considering donating! Bumrun donates to colon cancer charities and helps increase awareness for screening programs. It is so important to raise awareness about colon cancer and screening/prevention - this can happen to anyone! Grace
