My Story…
Did you know that colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in Canada, despite it being largely PREVENTABLE? Did you know that there is an alarming rise in the rates of colorectal cancer in Canadians under 50 years old?
As a healthcare practitioner by training, I have been privileged to provide care for many cancer patients over the years and I recognize that patient support and education programs are so vitally important and empowering for individuals affected by cancer. Through my work with the Colorectal Cancer Resource & Action Network (CCRAN), I can truly attest to the patient-focused, compassionate, and evidence-informed approach which drives the organization and helps patients and their care partners to navigate their cancer journey with confidence and competence. I am deeply touched and inspired by the many individuals and families impacted by colorectal cancer whom I have had the privilege of supporting, educating, and advocating for, and I am completing this run in their honour.
Let’s spread awareness while raising funds for CCRAN’s patient programs!
Thank you so much for supporting CCRAN and promoting awareness. SCREEN IT! TREAT IT! BEAT IT!
With thanks,
Cassandra
