My Story…
Description
On September 13th, 2025, I will be lacing up my shoes and participating in the Kitchener Kids with Cancer Run/Walk to raise awareness and funds for an incredible cause: The Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario (POGO).
Every year, over 4,500 families in Ontario face the unimaginable challenge of having a child undergoing cancer treatment or follow-up care.
While more than 85% of children diagnosed with cancer in Ontario survive, 2/3 childhood cancer survivors are at increased risk of at least one late effect due to their cancer or its treatment.
The funds we raise will directly support:
Financial assistance for families to help cover out-of-pocket costs related to their child’s treatment
Support for survivors through personalized school and work counseling for those facing learning challenges due to their illness or treatment
Promising research that focuses on understanding the impact of childhood cancer and its long-term effects
Your support can make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families impacted by childhood cancer. I’m excited to be part of this important cause and would greatly appreciate any contribution to help make a lasting impact.
