Frostbite 5k Postponed
Not the call we wanted to make but for the safety of everyone we are going to have to postpone the Frostbite 5k. Because the Parks Department closed the park because of unsafe ice and snow we will be running the Frostbite 5k concurrently with the Snowman Shuffle 4 Miler on February 8th.
If you want to enter the Frostbite 5k you must enter the Snowman Shuffle also unless you will be running virtually.
When you go to packet pickup for the Snowman Shuffle on February 7th at Ken Combs Running Store (4137 Shelbyville Rd.) you will also have your packet for the Frostbite 5k.
You will wear the same bib for both races so no need to worry about having to wear two bibs. We will have two sets of results, one for Frostbite 5k and one for Snowman Shuffle and also be able to announce the final Polar Bear Grand Prix standings.
We’ll also be rolling back the price increase that went into effect on January 1st and match price increases to match the Snowman Shuffle. If you registered between January 2nd and this morning, you will be receiving a $5.00 refund to your original payment method.
We feel grateful that in the 22 years of the Frostbite 5k, this is only the third time we’ve had to make accommodations for weather and hopefully the last.
Thank you for your understanding, everyone’s safety is most important and we did not make this decision lightly.
