My Story…
On November 23, I’ll be running the Philadelphia Marathon in support of the American Association for Cancer Research. This race is very exciting for me - it’s going to be my first marathon! The cause I’ll be running for is even more important, as I was diagnosed with medullary thyroid cancer less than a year ago. Thanks to advances in cancer research and the support of my friends and family, I am healthy and strong enough to take on 26.2 miles.
This marathon is not only about celebrating my recovery, but supporting an incredible foundation. Thyroid cancer rates for young women continue to rise, and it’s the most common type of cancer for women between the ages of 15-30. Cancer awareness, prevention, and treatment is more important than ever. It’s my hope that any young woman who is diagnosed can have the same hope for recovery and quality of life I have. So please join me in supporting cancer research by donating to the AACR. It’s the oldest and largest cancer research center out there, and continues to do amazing work for those fighting and recovering from cancer.
I’m grateful for any contribution and can’t wait to for November 23!
