My Story…
2025: 9th ANNUAL Manner Race Fundraiser: Back to Beating Cancer!
Back in 2017 I had the privilege to race in the Atlantic City Ironman 70.3 Triathlon as part of group fundraiser for Stomp the Monster, a charity which provided financial support to people and families going through cancer treatment who are also struggling financially to pay for day-to-day basic needs. I found the experience so meaningful that I continued to do a race fundraiser for Stomp the Monster on my own for the next six years. In those seven years we raised over $33,120 to support those struggling families. Although Stomp the Monster ceased operations at the end of 2023, last year we raised $5025 for Concern Worldwide to help people struggling due to chronic poverty or all types of natural and humanitarian disasters. This brings our 8 year race fundraising total to $38,145. THANK YOU to all who have donated (many of you for multiple, some for every one of those years)!
Although I am getting a late fundraising start this year for work and personal reasons, the year (nor my racing season) would not feel complete without a race fundraiser. My last race of the year is the Philadelphia Marathon on Sunday, November 23rd (just 27 days away), and the charity for this, the 9th Annual Manner Race Fundraiser is the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR)
Founded in 1907, by 11 physicians and scientists, the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) was the first, and has grown to be the largest cancer research organization dedicated to accelerating the conquest of cancer with 58,000 members in 141 countries composed of Members include laboratory, translational, and clinical researchers; other health care professionals; and cancer advocates. You can read more about this amazing organization at:

I am excited to start this this new race fundraising chapter for the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR). I hope you choose to take the journey with me by donating through my fundraiser.
Gratefully,
Mikko Manner
