My Story…
Watch my VIDEO: “Why Are You Still Going?”
For those who don’t know my story, I found running in 2022 and never looked back. What first was a competitive outlet and stress reliever for me soon became a true passion filled with joy and community. I moved to Jacksonville Beach, FL in 2023 and joined the local run club, where I found the greatest friends and support system. More recently, I helped start a women’s track club where we meet every Wednesday for workouts, each having individual goals, but all sharing the love for the sport.
Unfortunately, with all of the great things I found in running, came a frustrating and heartbreaking injury cycle that I am still facing. Two labral repair surgeries and 6 stress fractures in 3 years has been hard to come to terms with, but shared above are the reasons I continue to move forward. Therefore, I am taking my chances and giving a marathon another shot. I still have big goals, a community that encourages me, and a true gratitude for a healthy body that I know is capable of getting through this.
I am running the 2025 Philadelphia Marathon through the American Association for Cancer Research in honor of my grandparents Ed Thomas and Audrey Burrows. Supporting this organization means a lot to me, and any donations are very much appreciated. Thank you!
