Come paddle the Nottawasaga River in this inclusive and fun race hosted by the Collingwood Paddling Club, with options for any type of paddle craft and distances of 10 or 20 km.
Wearing life jackets is mandatory, as is standard safety equipment in the boat.
This year we have two separate 10 km loops. Those paddling boats WITH rudders or fins will race the new downstream course only (10 km is one lap, 20 km is two laps). Those paddling boats WITHOUT rudders or fins will head upstream from the start. Those racing 10 km will do one lap, while those doing 20 km will finish their race with a lap of the downstream course.
Challenge yourself and send off the season in style!
What you get:
1) race your friends
2) chance to win draw prizes
3) event t-shirt
4) pride
5) memories
6) post-race refreshments
7) safety boats on the river
8) sanctioned by OMCKRA

Spectator Information
To watch the race there are a few vantage points that have public access.
1) The start/finish and lower turn buoy can be seen from the Free Spirit Tours location at Schoonertown Parkette.
2) The upper turn buoy can be seen from the top of a large sand bank called the oxbow. Park at the water treatment plant at 10 Woodland Drive and walk in a short way to see the action on the river.
